I understand the importance of the school experience to every student.  As an educator, I agree to ...

  • Provide for all students motivating, interesting and challenging learning experiences that focus on grade-level   standards
  • Communicate with parents/guardians on a regular bases about:
  • Classroom goals and expectations
  • The grading system
  • Their student’s progress
  • Provide an atmosphere whereby students can become self-motivated to learn
  • Provide a safe, caring and positive learning environment
  • Provide a reasonable amount of homework to reinforce concepts taught in class
  • Respect the school, staff, students, and student families
  • Participate in professional development opportunities that improve teaching and learning 

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

I realize that my child’s school years are very important, and I understand that my participation in my child’s education will help his/her achievement and attitude.  As a parent/guardian I agree to ..

  • Make certain my child arrives at school on time, appropriately dressed, everyday
  • Take time to stop and talk with my child about his/her activities
  • Know how my child is progressing by attending conferences, looking at school work, talking to the teacher, and being involved in school activities, such as Back to School Night
  • Encourage my child to read at home (15 minutes per day K-3; 30 minutes per day 4-6)
  • Provide a quiet study time at home and encourage good study habits
  • Limit my child’s TV viewing and help select worthwhile programs
  • Respect the school, staff, students, and their families 

STUDENTS

I realize that education is important.  I know that I am the one responsible for my own success, and that I must work hard to achieve it.  I agree to ...

  • Come to school on time and appropriately dressed every school day
  • Ask my teacher for help when I don’t understand something
  • Bring all necessary materials to school
  • Be responsible for my own behavior and follow school and classroom rules
  • Be responsible to complete and turn in my work on time
  • Share with my parents/guardians what I am learning in school
  • Read at home on a daily basis by myself or with my family (15 minutes per day K-3; 30 minutes per day 4-6)
  • Limit my TV watching and select worthwhile programs
  • Respect my classmates, their families, the school, and school staff
