2013/2014 School Year

National School Lunch Program Application Information

If you were approved for free or reduced lunch during the 2012/2013 school year, your child/ren’s status will be the same ONLY for the first 30 days of the new school year.  Please make sure you fill out completely the new application being sent home to you from your child/ren’s school and return it to a school when the office reopens. List all children and their schools on 1 application.  If you do not receive one you may pick one up at the office. To avoid any delays in processing, please remember the following:

Only ONE application per residence.  List ALL children living in the household (in school or not). You do NOT have to fill out another application if you have children at different schools.  List them all on 1 application.

List ALL adults living in the home and their GROSS monthly income per individual.

Income shown on application must be from July 2013 or later.

If you qualify based on any assistance you receive you MUST provide the CASE #.  Simply writing, “YES” will delay processing.

Lunch Cost:

  • $2.75 when paying cash daily
  • $ .40 for students eligible for reduced price meals

Newark Junior High offers a selection of ethnic dishes. Also available year round are freshly made daily specials, pizza and sandwiches. There are snack bar windows that offer food during brunch service.

One identification card will be provided free of charge to all students. The I.D. card is the responsibility of each student. If a card is lost or cannot be read by the computer scanner because of student’s misuse, another card will be issued for the cost of $2.00. The cost of replacement cards is the responsibility of the student.

Breakfast Cost:

  • $1.75 daily
  • $ .25 for students eligible for reduced price meals

Breakfast is served every morning before school in the cafeteria.  At brunch breakfast may be purchased in both the cafeteria and at two snack bar windows. Breakfast includes fruit, milk and an entrée.
